I think big tech has just accidentally become a proxy for a socio-economic split, because of its recent sustained success, its role as a driver of income disparity and concentration of wealth, its social/geographic concentration, it political leanings, the opacity and lack of relatability/communication skills of the characters involved etc. See https://www.nytimes.com/2023/08/02/opinion/trump-meritocracy-educated.html

Big tech is my old skip's skip. He's a based kind of guy. He's really good at filtering information and acting as an agent for the upper strata's upper strata, whose objective function is "increasing power through monetary means"

Your instant conclusions as to the cause of these various problems are false news. With many of these topics, the true story behind the situation will never be properly explained. due to our failure to think know about it in cold logical terms and not emotionally and intuitively. Also our language is troublesome in properly defining the factors involved. When the loop become better defined and is no longer strange so we have a chance of finding out more of its truth, but it is my impression that we don't really want to know (because the details are unlikely to agree with our past training and illogical ways) and we never will.
